History of Pisgah Lodge

PREFACE
In writing this chronology of Pisgah Lodge from its first inception in 1817, through the end of
1999, several sources of information have been used in addition to the
official minutes of the lodge. In some of the more minor details, the various sources of
information conflicted at time, but do generally agree on the more important points. It has
been the focus of this writer to present the facts in an objective manner, and there has been
no attempt to make any judgment as to the favorable or unfavorable circumstances
surrounding various incidents which, in many cases, are a matter of public as well as masonic
record. If anyone has reliable information that substantially conflicts with anything herein
presented, it is hoped that the discrepancy will be forwarded to the author so that the
information might be presented to help make this writing as factual and accurate as possible.
